Exercise Seven: Join Art Education 2.0, a global community of art educators exploring uses of new technology.
Social networks have become a popular way for people to share, communicate, interact, and build relationships with others on the Web. While Facebook.com and MySpace.com are currently the best-known social networks for young people, many more sites have emerged recently that cater to groups with particular interests—like art educators.

Art Education 2.0 is for art educators at all levels who are interested in using digital technologies to enhance and transform art teaching and learning. Members can participate in forums, groups, projects, blogging, photo and video sharing, and receive site updates through RSS feeds. Current forum categories cover topics from “Art Assessment,” to “Best Digital Practices,” to “Secondary Art Education.” Similarly, groups have been formed around interests like “First-Year Art Teachers,” “Teaching Animation,” “Voicethread in the Artroom,” and more. Whether you’re just starting to work with technology in the classroom or have years of experience, all levels are welcome.
